12mm Bugle Beads |
12mm bugle beads (also known as bugles) are approximately one half inch. They are slightly larger than some Czech bugle beads which may be 11mm and called #5 size bugles. The numbering system used for Czech bugle beads is slightly different than that for Japanese bugles. 12mm Japanese bugles are also commonly called #5 bugles. So if you are mixing Japanese bugles with Czech bugles, be prepared for a possible size difference, even though they may be given the same size number. Matsuno is a Japanese brand.
They are commonly used for making jewelry and in many crafts. They are often part of a fringe or dangle in earrings, necklaces, ornaments, or even on clothing. They provide structure to geometric beaded shapes.
These bugle beads do not have the sharp edges found on Czech bugle beads. |
